While there are definitely more than 5 reasons why anyone should visit this tiny island on the edge of the Malaysian peninsula, this article has its limitation. My concentration has its limitation and if I am given the chance to rattle of, you might end up staring at a thesaurus of possibilities and you would not know where to start and you just get dazed and confused. One – the food. You cannot say no to our food. We have taken the best from the rest of the world, added our own spicy touch and of course there is the staple food of traditional Malay food and fare. This is no gastronomic experience, but an explosion of flavours and colors that will surely increase your appetite and make you sleep a lot better. Where to start? Chicken rice, laska, mee siam, mee rebus, char kuay tiau . . .these are just some of the names that you will definitely remember as you travel from shop house to shophouse. Worlds like kopitiam and hawker centre are names for food houses that you will take back to the country of your origin and whenever you hear the name Singapore, your stomach will rumble and your tongue will literally combust!
